Are you on the fence about homeschooling?
I get it!
This is a big decision, and you have a lot of questions.
What if you could get all of your questions answered so you can get off the fence and make this decision with confidence?
And I remember what it was like to make this important decision.
I was sitting in a children's ministry meeting at my church, and one of the other moms on the ministry team was telling us about her homeschool week. I distinctly remember telling her,
"I could never homeschool. I don't have enough patience!"
Well, God has quite a sense of humor. Over the next several weeks, he placed other homeschool moms in my path. And three different people asked if we were going to homeschool.
I started to take the hint and began asking questions. Lots of questions.
- What is homeschooling?
- When would I get a break from my children?
- What would I teach them?
- What if my daughter and I clashed?
And then I suggested we consider homeschooling to my husband. He had a lot of questions too!
- What about socialization?
- How will they participate in extracurricular activities like speech and debate, drama, choir, or sports?
- Will they get into college?
After talking to many homeschool parents and spending a lot of time researching, we decided to give it a try. That was ten years ago, and we are so thankful we decided to homeschool!
Homeschooling is not the right choice for everyone, but it is a good fit for many families.
I've talked to many parents in a variety of settings, including personal friends, church activities, retreats, and homeschool conventions. And I could tell they were overwhelmed by the tone of their voices.
They wanted to make the right decision. They didn't want to make a mistake that would impact their children for the rest of their lives.
I saw them struggle as they thought through all of the questions and tried to decide if they should homeschool.
I patiently answered their questions and provided examples from our home to show what homeschooling looks like in real life. And I didn't sugarcoat it. I shared the challenges of homeschooling; it's not all smiles and rainbows. Some days are just plain hard. But I also shared the joys and benefits. And, at least for our family, the joys far out weigh the challenges.
I want to help you make this important decision with confidence.
That's why I created The Homeschool Q&A Toolkit.
Here's what you'll get when you purchase the toolkit.
